History of Conquer Athletics

Over the first several years of our ministry, we recognized two desires these athletes had: the desire to compete and to hear more TRUTH about Jesus! Through those first few years, our primary way to play was through pick-up games at various local parks. And while we experienced some success, pick-up games were still fairly inconsistent.

So, in 2017, we had an idea - Let's create a league!

We decided to run a "trial season" that fall; a four team, five-week round robin style format. Although  we experienced a few bumps along the way, as well as a very angry hurricane named Irma, our trial ended up being a great success!

Then God inspired us to take it another step further.

While watching a wiffle ball league on YouTube (shout-out to MLW!!), Austin, Founder and Director of Conquer Athletics, was inspired to "follow the same model as these guys (playing wiffle ball) and do it for flag football."

And that's exactly what we did!

Each "Game of the Week" from those first few seasons has been posted on our Conquer Athletics YouTube channel, including our Quick-hit Gospel messages, designed to inspire you to seek a closer relationship with God. 

We hope you enjoy watching our videos as much as we enjoy creating them! We hope you find our Ministry, our athletes, our brotherhood, our crew entertaining and inspirational. We are praying for you: to be inspired, to become unleashed in your faith and in your walk with God, and to conquer your life through Christ Jesus!

But... we still weren't finished...

This league gave us a hunger for more! Hunger for more players and teams involved. Hunger for more of an impact in our community. Hunger for more of God's inspiration. So we asked, "What else can we do to make an even bigger impact on our community?"

After launching a new sport - Backyard Baseball - in the Spring of 2021, we wanted to create a fundraiser where our athletes could utilize their talents for a meaningful cause. The following spring, we organized and hosted our first Homers for Heroes Home Run Derby Fundraiser to benefit the families of fallen service members. We really had no idea what to expect with this event. All we knew is we wanted to put on a fun show, honor our nation's greatest heroes, and raise some money to help support the families they left behind.

We did just that... and then some! Since that first Memorial Day, we have raised over $60,000 for various national and local foundations!

But our story is far from over! We have so much to look forward to, much of it just on the horizon. Stay tuned!
